Installation

Follow the steps below to install KV King in a Splunk deployment. The process matches almost any other Splunkbase app install.

Install on a search head​

KV King is only required to run on the search head (with the exception of the indexes.conf file, which creates the kv-king index for audit logging).

Post-install checks​

Once installed, you will be prompted to accept the license agreement, as well as install a license.

License​

A free license will be granted, by entering your name (or company name) and email. Note that the email will be used to share your license key for later use.

Alternatively, if you have already purchased a license, it can be uploaded or entered here.

Settings​

Role based access control, and audit logging are disabled by default. Navigate to the settings page if you would like to enable these features.
